Hiragana/Katakana practice

When Kindergarten practices Hiragana alphabet,  they are separated into 3 groups.
All students study Hiragana(Katakana) with worksheet.

I would like them to be confident with writing Hiragana before they will be Grade1!
They will also bring home Golden week homework this week.

Sharing the Planet- Week 28

Kindergarten has been very busy this week preparing for International Children's Day. All of the games are made out of recyclable materials which is part of our inquiry, Sharing the Planet.
The students have been busy painting and decorating to help get the games ready. Additionally, the students have been very busy making colorful decorations for the room. The decorations include a giant planet Earth, promises to the earth and multiple paper chains.  Please come see how it looks when it is all put together!
The students have tested the games and  are ready for the big day tomorrow.
I hope to see you all there.
Have a great evening!

The students also continues their inquiry on 3D shapes. Here the students are creating different 3D shapes out of paper.

Sharing the Planet- Week 27

Kindergarten is very busy preparing for International Childrens Day. Our current theme is titled, Sharing the Planet. The children have been focusing on the concepts of reducing, reusing and recycling; therefore, we will make all of our games and decorations for the fair out of recyclable materials. We are still in need of soup cans if you would like to donate some for one of our games.
The children have also been creating Earth related art and have enjoyed re-purposing different materials for their various individual art projects.

Additionally, the kindergartners are starting an inquiry of 3D shapes. They enjoyed inquiring about different shapes through a variety of different activities this week. We will continue to explore 3D shapes during the next few weeks.

Have a great weekend.
