How We Organize Ourselves- Week 35

The other day the students saw me recycling the cardboard game from International Children*s Day.  They insisted that I not get rid of it but that we find another use for it. We decided to make a puppet stage with it. All week the students have been putting on different shows for each other. They have even assigned each other different jobs like a ticket person and someone who controls the lighting. It has been really fun to watch so I thought I would share the pictures with you all.

How We Organize Ourselves- Week 34

Kindergarten has been very busy this week as they have inquired about different methods of transportation. The students enjoyed creating different types of transportation stations out of blocks. Each group chose a type of station to make and worked together to create a structure; they created an airport, a station for boats, a bus station and a train station.
The students also worked in groups to inquire about different types of vehicles they have seen in the community. They created 4 different types of very impressive vehicles: a submarine, an ambulance, an army tank and an airplane. They really enjoy sharing their projects with each other. They all had so much to say about every detail they created.

We finished the week with our field trip to The Railway Museum. Here the students got to observe the evolution of trains in Japan. At the museum they were able to observe actual trains from long ago. They had many different example of trains and the children loved playing in each of them. The museum also had playground that was inspired by the different trains in Japan. The students even got to have lunch in a real train!
Have a great weekend!
