Where We Are in Place and Time- Week 13

This week was our celebration of learning and our winter performance. The kindergartners had practiced their song and dance to ,"It`s a Small World", for weeks. They were so excited to finally get the chance to perform. The performance seemed to be a great success and was enjoyed by all.

In our current inquiry, Where We are in Place and Time, the students have been inquiring about their own personal histories. Part of understanding their identity is to understand the culture of their countries of origin. One way the students explored their cultural identities was by wearing traditional dress for our winter performance. All of the students wore something during the performance that reflected their native lands. Additionally, the students enjoyed sharing their outfits during show and tell. It was truly a unique and amazing experience for the children to see such a large representation of cultures.

Thank you all for your support with the celebration of learning! I hope you all have a wonderful and relaxing holiday break.

Some of the kindergartners participated in skit about bullying at the beginning of the week. They had been practicing for a week and presented with grade 1 in front of the entire school.

The students sharing their homework on different ways you could sequence something. This was a continuation of our inquiry on sequencing. The students came up with many things you could sequence; such as the steps to making cotton candy or making hot chocolate.
