How the World Works- Week 25

This week the students completed their animal life cycle books; the books serve as a summative task for the unit, How the World Works. The central idea of this unit was to inquire about how all living things go through changes. The students have a strong interest in animals which is why the focus of the books was on their favorite animals.

JIES also had our celebration of learning as well as our parents morning. On this day the students had the opportunity to plant different seeds with their parents. The students were each given an observation journal and they will record their observation of the plants over the coming weeks. The plant observation will serve as a transitional project into our next unit, Sharing the Planet, wherein the students will focus on how people interact with, use and value local environments in different ways.

Thank you to all the parents that attended and supported us during this event!!
Have a great weekend!

This week students from grade 5 came and helped us pick out books from the library.

Thank you to those parents who brought seeds!!!
