Who We Are- Week 8

This was a very eventful week at JIES. Not only was it literacy week but we also finished the week with our celebration of learning.
In Kindergarten we spent the majority of the week preparing for the celebration and putting the finishing touches on our All About Me books.
The students practiced reading the books to teachers and with their peers. They were so excited to share it with their parents at the end of the week. Thank you to all of the parents who attended. I hope you all enjoyed seeing your children s hard work!!

The Kindergartners also had an amazing time celebrating literacy week. We started the week with a character parade. The students were beyond excited to dress up as their favorite characters. It was truly an amazing sight to see all of the costumes!! There were so many activities that the students enjoyed all week such as the spelling bee, visiting other classes for guided reading and even hearing stories in other languages.

Have a great weekend!

In music this week the students created their own body percussion.  The children take turns demonstrating a rhythm and the others follow.
